The IAFIMBASEL2 project achieved the following main outcomes and results;

1) A book as a training module titled “International Accounting Standards For SMEs In The Congruity Frame To Basel II”
2) A book as a training module titled “Financial Management For SMEs In The Congruity Frame To Basel II”
3) Portal: http://www.isletmeokulu.com
4) Distance Learning System

These four main outcomes mentioned above are the components of the project’s major aim. An e-learning organization called “İŞLETMEOKULU” was established and currently it is ready for a wide variety of e-learning practices. İŞLETMEOKULU has two main parts: (1) portal and (2) distance-learning system.

Portal is not only a web site. It is a dynamic interface for e-learning or the other things that are subject to online practices. At the portal (www.isletmeokulu.com), there are distance-learning system entrance, the gate for institutional practices, forum for exchange of vocational ideas, membership panel, admin panel, bulletin panel, personal authorized areas and huge capacity for static web site implementations. Portal editor is the only authorized person for restricted panels and control tools.

Distance-learning system is the other main part of the İŞLETMEOKULU. By entering this area, users can connect the lessons and perform all activities related with training activities like making homework, attending tests etc. Also, distance-learning system includes forum for students and teachers, activity guide book and separate admin panels for editors, teachers and students. To set up such a portal and distance-learning system requires high-tech knowledge, enhanced software and a unique server. Also it needs professional technical administration practice in order to provide continuous visibility.

The project overcomes these challenges in moderation by working with a high tech subcontractor. However, to make its life permanent, İŞLETMEOKULU needs to taken over by an organization which has professional IT department after the end of EA funding. Projects partners such as Ankara Chamber of Industry, OSTIM Organized Industrial Region Directorate have willingness for taking over. This is another important achievement of the project, because sustainability is one the base factors for EU projects. By such a transaction, İŞLETMEOKULU can finish its organizational identification development.

The books are unique training materials for Turkey. Especially, the book titled “International Accounting Standards For SMEs In The Congruity Frame To Basel II” includes the International Accounting Standards for SMEs which was published by International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) on 9 July 2009. This feature of this book creates superiority against other books in Turkey that covers IAS. Also the difference of this book can be realized when it is thinking that The Turkish Accounting Standards Board has not been published these standards for SMEs yet.

The book titled “Financial Management For SMEs In The Congruity Frame To Basel II” has advantage in the meaning of financial training for SMEs when compared with other curriculums because, SMEs’ managers and employees generally don’t search high level theoretical books. However, the books include Basel II Standards and financial techniques in the market mostly cover needless knowledge for SMEs stakeholders. The book written during the period of the project fills a need for them.

Many dissemination activities were carried out during the project period in order to introduce İŞLETMEOKULU, the potential affects of Basel II on SMEs, the new accounting applications came up with IAS for SMEs and future plans of the project after the end of EU funding. Dissemination activities include publications on bulletins and magazines, TV program and valorization meetings-seminars hold in different vocational organizations. Especially, valorization meetings and seminars create high value in order to reach project’s target group, SMEs. Also books were distributed to stakeholders of target groups by the mediation of project’s partners.

In conclusion, by the dissemination activities, project can provide awareness about its outcomes and results. In quantitative manner, as a direct influence, more than 300 stakeholders of target groups became a member of İŞLETMEOKULU, more than 300 people attended valorization meetings and 1000 pieces of book were distributed to SMEs’ managers and employees; on the other hand, as an indirect influence, uncountable stakeholders knew this project and its results by TV program, publications and other sub-valorization activities.
